Childhood Buddies

Prince Zuko and Marquess Hiroakira Fengxian as little kids. Despite Zuko's apparent lack of enthusiasm, the two boys were as close as brothers in their early years. Despite being much stronger than Zuko (and pretty much every other kid in school), Hiro always admired one trait in Zuko: the prince's sheer determination against impossible odds. Hiro took strength from that, and resolved that no matter what, so long as Zuko never gave up, than neither would he.
